One of the most dangerous one is Cervical cancer, this do not show any symptom in early stage but can prove devastating at a later stage.

What is Cervical Cancer?

Cervical cancer happens when the cells grow out of control in the women’s cervix. This is quite common in India but can be detected at an early age if the person is alert and catching the ongoing changes happening in the body. This can spread further making the women go through a higher risk of being infected.

How can it be Detected?

Abnormal Pap test is done to detect the vital disease, the process involves taking a sample from the cervix surface and screening if there is any abnormal cell growth. It is not necessary that the cell growth always indicates cancer, sometimes it’s normal but the Pap test will show the exact results if anything dangerous is going inside.

What are the causes of Cervical Cancer?

This cancer is caused by a virus named HPV - Human papillomavirus which can be infected through sexual contact with the person having it.

Women body has the power to fight with the virus but sometimes it leads to cancer, a women is at a higher risk to getting cancer if she smokes, have many children, have HIV infection or take birth control pills for a long time.

What are the Symptoms of Cervical Cancer?

Symptoms of cervical cancer in women may include the following-:

  • Pelvic pain
  • Abnormal bleeding during menstruation
  • Severe cramps
  • Bleeding from vagina

How can it be Cured?

For curing it one needs to go for cervical cancer vaccination which is available at maximum hospitals. If it gets worse on late detection then chemotherapy is done to save the patient.

For prevention one needs to follow a healthy diet including green leafy vegetables, adequate amount of water and a balanced diet.

It’s an old proverb but is still dragging it’s existence ---“Prevention is better than cure”, do prevent yourself from the deadly disease.
